Nanchang, China

Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi Province, known in ancient times as Yuzhang and Hongdu, with a history of over 2,200 years. It is located in the north-central part of Jiangxi Province, at the lower reaches of the Gan and Fu Rivers, on the southwestern shore of Poyang Lake. As the political, economic, and cultural centre of the province, Nanchang is recognised as a "National Historical and Cultural City" and a "City of Heroes" a -place often described as "outstanding in natural splendour and exceptional in human talent". As of the end of 2024, the total area of Nanchang is 7,194.98 square kilometres.

Nanchang is a major comprehensive transportation hub in China and the birthplace of the country's aviation industry. It is also increasingly known for its rapidly growing industries in photovoltaics, optoelectronics, and virtual reality (VR). Among its higher education institutions, Nanchang University stands out. Tracing its origins to 1921, it is a national "Double First-Class" and "Project 211" key university. The city boasts cultural landmarks such as the Jiangxi Provincial Museum and the Nanchang Relics Museum of Haihun Principality of the Han Dynasty. The Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural District is a popular destination where ancient and modern elements converge.

Jiangxi Provincial Museum As a National First-Class Museum, it houses a rich collection of ancient bronze ware, porcelain, and calligraphy. Its permanent exhibition of golden artefacts from the Haihun Marquis tomb offers a unique glimpse into China’s Western Han Dynasty.	Pavilion of Prince Teng (Tengwang Pavilion) Originally built in 653 AD during the Tang Dynasty, this iconic tower is one of the three famous pavilions south of the Yangtze River. It is celebrated for the classic prose "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng" by Wang Bo and offers panoramic views of the Gan River.	Relics Museum of Haihun Principality of the Han Dynasty Located within the National Archaeological Site Park, this National First-Class Museum displays over 10,000 Western Han relics. Among the most remarkable exhibits are 115 kilograms of gold items, including hoof‑shaped and scale‑shaped ingots

Nanchang University As a national “Double First‑Class” and “Project 211” university, Nanchang University traces its origins to 1921. Its main Qianhu Campus offers a spacious, scenic environment for academic study and research.	Nanchang Rare Botanical Garden Covering 10.4 hectares in Xinjian District, this garden features three themed glasshouses: tropical rainforest, exotic flowers and fruits, and a desert landscape. It serves as both an educational facility and a relaxing green space for visitors.	Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural District Centred around the historic Iron Pillar Wanshou Palace, this district follows a traditional “three streets and five lanes” layout. Restored and reopened in 2021, it blends ancient architecture with local snacks, creative shops, and cultural performances.
